Lee Lynch’s second feature The Murder of Hi Good is a true crime “Acid Western” set against the back drop of the California Indian wars, 1870. The film details the assassination of The West's most notorious Indian hunter, Hi Good. Most historians believe that his indentured servant Indian Ned killed him, and that he was influenced by the nearby Mill Creek Indians or "diggers" who were struggling to exist on ancestral lands.
The film stars Emmy award winning filmmaker David Nordstrom and is shot on 35mm, 16mm, Super 8mm, and Analog video by Academy Award nominated cinematographer James Laxton (Moonlight). The film is produced by Independent Spirit Award nominated Frederick Thornton (Lake Los Angeles). Score is by Jon Raskin (of avant-garde Saxophone quartet ROVA), and Costumes are designed by Ovation Award winning costume designer E.B. Brooks (The Legend of Georgia McBride). The film was edited by Emmy Award nominated J. Santos (Chef's Table, Unsolved Mysteries) and the screenplay is co-written by LA Art critic Doug Harvey. The film had its world premiere At FID Marseille.
